So ends the poem that sets Hannah Miller's heart to dreaming about love. But soon an unspeakable tragedy causes Hannah to vow never to dream about love again.

When she visits her aunt in Montana, she meets someone else who has had his dreams of love shattered as well.

A misunderstanding between the two sends Hannah back home and to the wedding altar with Sam Knepp, the Amish farmboy who has staked his claim on her affections.

But can she be happy as his farm wife when there's so much more in her heart than that?
