In the San Francisco of the 1960's and 1970's, young Will Hessler is split between the local Jewish community, his Nazi War Criminal Grandfather and his anti-Semitic/ PLO affiliated Mother. As things come to a boil within the family unit, the world outside begins pushing Will in unexpected directions, forcing him to choose between his family and what he knows is right.
