It is the busiest time of year at Coconel on the Le Noireau's  Gran Couva estate in Trinidad, and the newly appointed Chairman of the Board Rhys Le Noireau is facing an ownership challenge from a family tree in Guadeloupe.Francine Morchant has heard from her impoverished family members in her native Guadeloupe that her ancestor, Lisette Pineau founded the Coconel brand of chocolates and cocoa in Trinidad.An unemployed chocolatier, Francine leaves the security of her family in Guadeloupe seeking her fortune in her family-owned business in Trinidad.Along the way, she discovers, that blood, is, in fact, thicker than water and a Cocoa Panyol Christmas, Parang, Pastelles, and picong with strangers who are now family, is all the fortune she needs.
