A Certain Splendour

Faith Dangerfield enjoys the privileged life of British naval high society in the golden early years of the twentieth century. She acts as hostess for her father, the widowed Commodore Dangerfield on his luxury yacht as it cruises to Monte Carlo, Malta and Alexandria. And there is Jack Cummings, to whom Faith is irresistibly drawn. Her world collapses when Jack testifies against her father at a Court Martial; the Commodore is found guilty and ruined. Faith strives to repair her shattered life despite the enmity of rich femme fatale Natasha Chalmers, and the revelation of her father's terrible secret.
